China reported 35 tons of bananas worth $33,000 imported from Philippine was destroyed because of overdose excessive pesticide use that would affected human's health. But it's not the reason to breakup trade relationship between Manila and Beijing based on Philippine Palace Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr said.

With estimated value at FOB 1.4 million pesos and it's equivalent to only two containers Coloma said, and he continued that this quantity is too small while he's not so happy how DTI seem strictly following the rules set by the World Trade Organization regarding SPS.

However, many Filipino netizens claimed that it's not about these 2,700 boxes of bananas but it might be something behind the South China Sea dispute even though China is one of the Philippines' top trading partners and some people said if China had good at controlling the quality of imported product, this would not happen.
